Understanding and Application of the Risk Assessment Approach
Is Part of the FPS Culture
The clear understanding of RISK is
crucial to any business continuity. There is a need to assess both
routine and business activities to identify potential risks, the
possible worst case implications and the realistic assessment of
the probability of an occurrence actually happening. Having identified
and in a consistent manner classified a risk it will then need to
be managed. Risks are dealt with by:-
i) redesigning/employing an alternative approach which eradicates
the risk;
ii) undertaking the task subject to an agreed method/approach
which avoids the risk;
iii) undertake the task with the benefit of appropriate personal
protection equipment which neutralises the risk and renders the
activity safe to proceed.
